rear headrest removal S80

My wife can's see well out of the rear window because of the fixed headrest. She has a 2000 S80 2.9. There is no switch on the console or dash to move the headrest. There is no indent behind the rear seat which releases the 2 stainless arms which hold the headrest. The dealer doesn't have a clue other than to try a hacksaw. The seatback has a thin metal backing under the mesh cloth. Does anyone know if it can be removed??
