Some one please confirm and/or comment on the following: Car has 60,000+ miles. After the car warms up 5 minutes, and while cruising under 30 mph, a loud continous hissing noise comes from the foot break pedal area. Once the foot break pedal is pressed gently, the hissing noise momentarily stops, but sounds again once the break foot pedal is released. A dealer has advised that it appears to be a Power Break Booster issue and needs to be replaced at a cost of $525 for the part, 4.5 hours of labor at $110. A local mechanic wasn't so sure that the hissing noise would disappear by replacing the power break booster, but advised that the part can be installed within 1.5 hours. Any comments and/or confirmation to the above?
