S70 wheel bearing - 26 or 36 splines? S70 1998

My brother-in-law has a 98 S70 Turbo (non T5) which is in dire need of a wheel bearing. I've found several websites with good prices and another with great instructions (pictures & all) but there seems to be a discrepancy in the number of splines on the end of the driveshaft / CV joint. As far as I can tell, up to a certain year/chassis # they used a 26-spline shaft, and thereafter it was 36 splines. This cutoff SEEMS to be around the 98 model year, but I can't find out exactly which side of the fence this car is on. Any suggestions? Anything on the model plate to tell me? Thanks in advance....
