Hey Everybody.
I recently bought a 94 850 Turbo with a bad engine for an engine swap project.
I had a used engine shipped from connecticut then I installed it.
It started right up, and ran like a top, but it started to smoke white smoke really bad at idle and at higher rpms. The smoke was definitely very steamy but did not smell like antifreeze. I did drive the car for a minute and the turbo seemed to be not working, the needle only went halfway up the gauge. If I increase rpms the whole garage fills up with the white smoke.
I drained the oil and found it to be a little hazy, sort of metalic looking with tiny fine sparkles all through it.
I went to remove the sparkplugs and they all were loose, but the tips all looked the same.
I'm thinking its the headgasket, and someone did a compression check and didnt tighten down the plugs. I really don't know yet, at this point I'm about $2500 down under and I ordered the new engine several months ago (warrenty void) so a little optimism, if only ficticious would be arreciated.
Thanks for your time, any suggestions are more then welcome.
