850 ball joints and steering knuckle job 850 1994

Hi all,
I was just quoted ball joints $595 and steering knuckle $285 for my '94 850 wagon. That is some serious dough, how difficult is it to do myself? I did not find a description at Bay 13 or elsewhere. Maybe it is not a DIY job?
I did front pads and rotors myself and saved a bundle (quoted $490, parts were around $120 IIRC).

Thanks for any insight!
