In dash CD changer has taken my CD hostage S80 1999

My in-dash CD changer has a CD stuck in it and I've been told by a Volvo dealer that the entire stereo unit needs to be replaced. I have the HU801 model. Is it necessary to replace the entire stereo unit? If so what options do I have in abtaining a new unit other than from a dealer. I've been quoted $283.05 for a new stereo unit plus $45-60 labor. Are there any thoughts out there as to what my options may be? I can't stand being without my CD player.
