i am going to bite the bullet and replace the transmission in my car. but before i do, i need to know if anyone knows what the P1618 code is all about. i read it using one of alex peper's scan tools and his interpretation is a serial communications issue. obviously i would like to know beforehand if a new (or good uused) tranny will make this code go away.

any ideas?
