We owned a 1993 850 & 1996 960 at the same time. 850 purchased new and 960 used (20,000 miles). I liked the 960 but found it was not as comfortable as the 850. Wider seat cushion, better vison, more leg and foot room in the 850. Less trunk and cabin space in the 960 and the 960 just wasn't as fun to drive either. Rear rotars on the 960 warp frequently, glue on door panel fails, over head consol parts break were some problems. The 960 was a good running engine though. In the end we sold the 960 in 2001 and still drive the 850. I would find another 850. I've seen 1996 850's (CA) with low miles that are in good shape.
