Leaky oil cap 850 1996

True, a new oil cap seal will increase the crankcase pressure, if it is not properly vented.

BUT, most seals that leak oil are not from pressure but the NORMAL oil that is being splashed against the cap from the rotation of the cam. So, get a new seal and check the pressure at the oil dip stick. If the pressure is high, put the old seal back on the cap and go on your trip. Fix it when you get back.
