Timing marks on 2000 V70 XC V70-XC70

I have just replaced the timing belt, tensioner & idler pulley on a 2000 V70 XC.

It was a bit different from the mid 90's 850's I've done.

The mark on the crank pulley was just like all the 960's & 850's I've done; the very teeny-tiny notch at the back of one of the ribs for the toothed belt.

The marking on the front of the motor was not like I've seen before. Usually there is a clear line on the front of the oil pump housing or whatever is right behind the crank pulley. On this car I saw a sort of a shiny line further up from the crank pulley that seemed to align with the crank mark in the std belt removal alignment with the cam marks straight up aligned with the notches in the plastic cover.

Now I did also follow the procedure of passing this position by 90° THEN going backwards to the std alignment position as cited above to relieve tension in the VVT unit on the exhaust cam.

Is there a clear mark on the front of the motor for the crank gear position?

It seems like I'm missing something, but I studied that thing with a very good LED flashlight and I'm a little troubled by the lack of clarity for that part of the alignment.

Am I missing something?
