I wanted to respond to your post so it will "move up in line" and it might get noticed by someone more knowledgable than the three of us.
No, I didn't remove the EGR for cleaning. Haven't gotten any further than replacing the flame trap's hoses and tossing the screen. Removing the EGR and cleaning it are new territory for me...
I too would prefer not to remove the intake manifold. Sounds like a PITA job. Plus I've never done one before.
So is the EGR attached to one of the flame trap hoses or where do I look for it?
