I, personally, think your engine is too young to be burning that much oil. It might be due to your driving habits. My wife's Audi is the same age as yours with less mileage and burns about the same amount. I attribute it to her zealous use of the gas pedal.

It does not cost a lot to get a compression test, and getting a base reading on a warm engine would be nice to have on file.

You also want to verify that the PCV is clean, which builds up pressure in the crankcase and forces oil past the valve seals in a cold engine.
