Congrats for the new project car.
Did it come with service records?
Does it have dyno oil in the cramkcase? Better switch it to synthetic.
Then clear and/or disable the EGR system. (there's a thread of it's own)
Maybe that can be done without having to remove the intake manifold.
Maybe you can punch out the crud via the opening at the throttle body, using
one of those cheap Harbor Freight Boroscopes to see what you're doing?
