Question About Strut Brace for AWD V70-XC70 1998

Don't know about the '98s, but on the '01-'02s there is a brace THERE. It looks like it's made up of stuff out of the metal bins at Home Depot painted plack, as opposed to the nice neat appearance of the optional brace, but it's there at least on the Gen II XC.
