They should be the same up front. Other than something being installed from factory (and I don't recall seeing in on my friend's XC), there's no reason why you couldn't put it in. Maybe it was a typeo on the ad you were reading from brace company.

I have an OMP and love it. Actually noticed a big difference in overall rigidity. Sunroof shade stopped squeaking too.
