Hello,
You might consider two single Din units that fit in the double Din opening. Nakamichi has a single Din in dash 6 disk changer MB-70, that pairs with a single Din head unit. I chose the TD45z to keep the ability to play cassettes. The Nak pair install easily and have far better sound quality than the stock head unit. (Far better in fact than anything I've heard before in a car.)I had run the stock unit and changer through a 6 pin Din to RCA adaptor from stock head unit to a 5 channel Alpine amp, MB Quart Q series components, and two 8" Rockford subs. Aside from SQ, I ended up going with Nak because of it's relatively stock appearance, and lack of light shows. You can also add a outboard D/A converter which I have done, but it's not necessary.
In terms of a downside, Nak must have the slowest CD changer on the planet, with changes taking approx 15 sec. (I'm not in a hurry). It also sounds like the mechanism is going to explode during a change, but you get accustomed to the racket. Price is also a bit higher than many.
Good luck in your search and happy listening,
Perry
