Looking at 1998 V70 R V70-XC70 1998

You should be able to bring them down to the 20k-21k range. Check out the service history of the car and see if there are any consistent problems. Check the fluids of the car to make sure they are clean. Check the brake pads and the rotors....make sure the rotors aren't warped. If everything looks good, then jump on it if they give you the right price. I bought a 98 V70R last year with 53k miles and totally love it.....it puts a smile on my face every time I stomp on the gas pedal. The only major problem so far that I am having right now is a seized front right caliper....the brake pads got really really low so my mechanic put in some used brake pads for now and the caliper seems to be working....I plan on the replacing the front rotors, pads and front right caliper really soon. Other than that, the car has been a total blast....just installed some IPD springs, strut bar and skid plate. It looks great!
