after reading horror posts from others who have changed there own timig belt, and then ruined there engine upon start up, i have scheduled to have mine replaced at the dealer next tuesday.
315 including tax. an extra 30 for the accessory belt, and this includes a loaner car.
Although I am a Licensed FAA Aircraft mechanic and believe that i could do the job myself, the 300.00 is like an insurance policy, if the dealer ruins my engine, the dealer replaces my engine. IF i mess up then i am out a 5000.00 repair.
Others have found more than one timing notch on the pulleys, and other strange things encountered.
Besides i do not want to do a job like this in my driveway.
Drop it off, pick it up, drive it home! Let Volvo worry about paying for a screw up.
