Radiator Cooling Fan 850 1997

KP...I did not check out the action of the Fan Motor Control. When I checked out the fan I removed the connector from the fan motor control and hooked an external 12 volts to the red and the green leads going to the motor and both speeds worked fine. What I am considering doing is to remove the 12 volt input to the fan motor control unit and connect a 12 volt lead from the battery to that terminal and then put a ground to the two terminals...(after I remove the wires from the fan motor control... one at a time of course) and see if the motor runs at the two speeds. I will have the car off so I don't think that it should hurt anything...does this sound reasonable?
