Air Pump part number? S70 1998

Mike,

Looks like that part is #9179271-3 ($316.82 list).
That should fit 98-00 Sorry, no info on the earlier.

Mike,

About a month ago, my check engine light went on in my 1998 Volvo S70 (non turbo) sedan. After taking it to the dealer (begrudgingly as dealers usually screw you over), I found out ( forget the error code) that it needed a new air pump. My understanding is although this is not vital to the running of the car, it should eventually get done. Just called Swedish Engineering, 800-928-6586 and the cost for the air pump was $240.

Let me know if anybody finds it cheaper of if the 850 air pump will work.

Also, my car is at 79,000 miles and I have been told my timing belt needs changed. Swedish Engineering quoted me $35- a far cry cheaper than the $250 (incl labor) the dealership. How soon does this need to be done- does it have to be done at 70K mi or can it wait till 100K?

Can anyone recommend an *AFFORDABLE* garage in the Cleveland, Ohio area?

Thanks for the feedback-

Jonathan
