Radiator fan V70-XC70

Has anyone experienced intermittent warning light illumination for the radiator fan failure on a 1998 v70? The idiot light comes on upon sharp acceleration off the line the goes out once the car is moving normally. It doesn't happen everytime, however. I have removed the leads to the fan motor from the fan relay and hotwired them..fan works great on both speeds.
