If your rotors are seriously warped, you will be aware of it from the driver's seat. If your technician told you about warped rotors, I'll bet he could see the problem when he spun the rotor, or he could feel it from the pedal.

As far as rotor thickness, keep in mind that there are two minimum thicknesses, one for brakes that are in service, and a thicker standard that is used when new pads are being installed.
