I doubt that your slightly overfilled crankcase (IF 1 qt low before) is causing your problems. I doubt that it's related to your new problems.
It's never a good idea to add any oil additives as the stuff's all just snake-oil. Don't believe what the bottle or any advertizing says.
If in any doubt that the stuff might be causing a problem, why not get the oil changed (or do it yourself) and that'll eliminate that as being a potential cause?
