Last time I weighed the Tyvek envelope I keep my Volvo repair reciepts in, it came in at 4 1/2 pounds. We're long past the point where I list the repairs individually.
I'm not at all sure a BMW or Mercedes would be much bettter, although I'll probably never attempt the insane exercise of keeping a car for 200,000 miles again.
I'd dispute your statement about Volvo depreciation... kbb trade-in on mine is $4,280, which I think is just amazing (high).
