[Text and photos courtesy of Randy Starkie] To replace the brushes in your Denso alternator for later 740 and 940 cars, follow the pictorial instructions below. You will need two brush assemblies. My counter man worked from the Volvo part number for my alternator
which was 3544119. The brush set was JN50-52003. A brush set is $2.45;
bare brushes available- 50 for $9.95. Buy them from J & N Auto Electric,
