After disassembling the door latch, the wear points are readily visible and it is clear why the handle droops and jiggles. If the points identified are built up again and reshaped, the handle will stay horizontal and stay in positive contact with the latch. If the square stock of the handle is twisted, it can be mounted in a vise and twisted back. Be careful, the material is soft, mild steel. |
