NOTE |
A picture of the damaged section of the tone ring on the B234F 16-valve 740 GLE 1990 sedan. Note this small amount of damage caused the engine to lose RPM data and create an artificial ceiling of 1900 RPM that the engine had difficulty accelerating beyond. This was probably caused by the tow truck driver putting a hook through the inspection window on the bottom of the transmission bell housing. Mystery solved and the car is back on the road again. God bless, Fitz. |

NOTE |
Mystery signal coming from tone ring (CPS sensor, RPM signal on flywheel) on B234F engine. This is not from the TDC indicator, but seems to be a drop out in the signal for what should be normal holes in the tone ring. (I discovered a damaged tone ring after seeing this pulse data on the hand held scope-meter.) |

NOTE |
This is what the pulse data looks like when the tone ring comes to the spot with the two missing holes, indicating to the ignition controller that Top Dead Center is coming up in 90 degrees from now. Again, there are 2 missing holes in the tone ring to cause this signal skip as viewed on a hand-held scope-meter. God bless, Fitz. |

Distributor position marked with electrical tape. Tape is tidy because it was added with distributor off of car. Position was transferred from old distributor. This is an alternative solution to using a pen marker. |

NOTE |
This valve is attached to the airbox on a non-turbo 1994 850. I'm trying to find out what it does and where the 2 vacuum hoses attached to it go.
There is one vacuum hose attached to the back of the valve and another on the underside of the valve. |

NOTE |
Fuel pipe to fuel rail, to disconnect squeeze green button (square) hard, push in and pull out. Have a rag ready because fuel will expel from both the pipe and fuel rail. Oh yeah, be sure to release pressure from the rail first (valve on passenger side end of fuel rail). |
