I added this "turndown" tip to the Simons 2" sport exhaust on my '68 220 122 Wagon. It extends beyond the bumper, and I'm convinced it has less "booming" sound effect. The part is a Nickson 2-1/4 turndown tip #170604, cut off just short of the 1st wrinkle, and a 1.5" slot from that end cut in to allow it to be crimped to fit tightly inside, tapped in to spring fit. I fixed it with a single screw for now. If it rattles I'll add another screw. |

This was Greg Moisley's car (Canadian Volvo Club) from 1990-2013 and is pictured in a Toronto area Volvo showroom on the vlvworld website in the 1800ES section. Would be interested to hear from anyone with any other knowledge of the car's history (I have some service records). |
