Since renewing my activity here (bought a couple bricks again), twice other listers have asked me for my email address.

Curious, I tried clicking on his login name, and got an Internal Server Error.

Are we supposed to be able to contact each other with some kind of direct messaging?

    Hi Reno,

    Brickboard mail, and several other functions have been busted for some time.
    I wonder if Google owns the site now.

      Big icky money fund KKR is buying up successful forums such as Ford Truck Enthusiasts. Behind these investment firms is of course Blackrock.

      They spruce up the UI, update software, have bots screen applicants by IP range, and appoint non-technical mods to enforce leftist "community standards" in other words no more jokes allowed. The ban hammer falls on old timers who have contributed for decades but now their words are judged hurty. Can't have that, can we.

      I hope this site flies under their radar.

    No DM capability.

    The reason they asked for your email address is access to others profiles (including their email address) has been broken for awhile. The site usually works but some functions don’t anymore. It has been under attack quite a bit recently.

      It has been under attack quite a bit recently.

      By attack do you mean hacking from outside entities? Or do you mean criticism from members? I'm thinking probably the latter.

      Not that I take offense, mind you. I have complained a couple of times about features that don't seem to work anymore but it's better to have what still works and be able to help one another than to have nothing.

      I have taken some of my questions directly to Jarrod and typically I get a reply but when I try to follow up I hear nothing more. I know he's busy or at least I assume he is and neither I nor anyone else can make demands on his time. But I'd think he would be a little concerned.

        Actually, it is the former. Link below is a post from Jarrod himself in this Opinions forum regarding attacks on this site. It is about a year and a half old. I haven’t noticed anything further.

          Now that you have reminded me I must admit, I recall this post from Jarrod.

          But I have to wonder, rhetorically, about the functions you mention that don't work anymore...do they not work because of being hacked? Or do they not work because of neglect on the part of the owner?

          My two main complaints are the display, and the ability to navigate legacy posts in the Opinions forum.

          These, "problems," do not seem like the work of hackers.

          Please understand, I am not trying to start an argument. But I have appealed to Jarrod on these matters only to end up feeling ignored.

            I'm glad I found this discussion. I've been having problems, such as:
            - In Classified Ads, contacting by email (via the hidden email address in profile) does not work. I was wondering if it works, so I created a new BB account to test the contact feature. I've since added a phone number to my profile, which will give me more confidence that no inquiries are due to no interest in my car, rather than communication failure.
            - I can't see how to delete my previous classified ad. I created a new one, thinking I would be able to remove the first one. I chose new ad instead of editing old one, thinking that if people were unable to communicate, they would not look at the same ad again.
            - I cannot upload images. I just get "internal server error".

            There were some other issues I noticed. Oh, well, like you said, the existing functionality is better than nothing.

            Regarding the classified ads, I wonder why expired ads still show up. It's not like old ads show what and when something sold for, so I'm not yet recognizing the value of seeing them.
