It is possible that the badging is missing, especially if the trnk was repainted and left off after painting.
It's easy to tell if your car is an intercooler model (actually I think that by your year all turbos had an intercooler) by looking in the engine bay for the intercooler.
Look for a large unit that looks rather like an additional radiator, mounted next to the engine side of the radiator. It will have a large diameter hose into it on the lower right side, and a similarly large diameter on the left from it to the throttle body.
Air leaving the turbocharger is heated and thus less dense. The intercooler removes the heat to raise the density and provide more oxygen into the combustion chambers.
Early turbo models, 240 and 740, did not have an intercooler. So when they came out as a factory item, badging was added, IIRC. At first the I-cooler could be added by the dealer or an enterprising DIY owner but no badging.
Good Luck,
Bob
