it wouldn't destroy anything to look, however if your set is installed on a car it will be a bit of a pain to disassemble it just to take a look. If the set is out of a car it would be a lot easier I think.
the smaller of the two "underhood" units contains the wiring... you must unbolt 3 bolts from it's bracket (without dropping the nuts or bolts into the netherworld) - then unscrew the small screws holding the flat plastic cover of the unit (again without dropping the small screws into the netherworld).
once inside you would see two valves (one should have a white plastic bottom and the other a black plastic bottom) my only question is which valve has the
Y-R wire going to it and which valve has the Y-BN wire going to it.
I would completely understand if you don't want to go through all this for me.
But this shouldn't destroy anything in your cruise control unit unless the bolts are rusted and might break... if that is the case than don't venture in there!
