I am in the process of replacing the tranny mount on my 94 940.

As suggested in the FAQ, I have the car on jack stands in the front. The tranny is supported by a hydralic jack and a board. I removed the rear support cross member and the center bolt on the mount. However, the mount is stuck to the transmisson. I have tried prying, hitting, spraying lube around the center bolt. None of it has worked.

If you have any suggestions, they would be appreciated.

If you've removed the center bolt and the two on the sides, then the only thing holding it up there must be rubber adhered to the tranny.

Yes it seems that the rubber of the old mount is stuck to the tranny. I have tried every way I can think of to get it upstuck and none have worked so far. I am at a loss for new ideas.

After trying to get the old mount unstuck for a few hours, I gave up and took the mounting bracket off the bottom of the transmission. Unfortunately, the mount is still stuck to the bracket.

Do I need an new bracket? Or can I soak the part in something to break the mount off of the bracket.

EDIT- What I am calling "the bracket" is Volvo part #3507501

I know this question is redundant, but are you sure you have the nut off the bolt in the center of the mount?

Well I bought a new bracket and installed the mount. No problems in the install. Hopefully the motor mount installation goes well this evening.

While you may need a new bracket, why not try hacksawing the mount off, then burning any residual rubber with a torch or applying a good solvent?
