Turbo Hissing Noise 700 1988

What can cause a "hissing" noise when the turbo kicks in.

The noise appears to be coming from the vicinity of my left knee (but I swear it's not me), maybe in the dash to the left of the steering wheel.

Any ideas?

leaky hose. 700 1988

There may be a manifold pressure transducer that is used to send a signal to the ecu which in turn increases the duty cycle of the fuel injectors. In any case there IS a hose under the dash that goes to the turbo gauge...also other hoses that go to the brake pedal valve/switch for the cruise control disconnect. So check ALL the hoses under the dash for leaks.
