Broken wheel stud on front wheel spindle

Recently, a wheel stud broke on the front wheel spindle of my 1987 Volvo 245 GL. Is there a relatively easy way to replace this stud?

You can hammer out the old one easily enough but I'm not sure if the new stud will readily go in from the back of the spindle since it is longer than the broken stud. If it does you can easily draw it all the way in when you replace the wheel and tighten the nut all the way up.
