I have 91 VOLVO 240 sedan. The car was running fine.
I left for India for 4 months, the car was parked
on the street and did not start for that period.
When I started the car after 4 months,it started but
the car does not go more than 30 miles per hour.
And going to hill its very slow no matter how much

Transmision Kick-Down cable siezed? 200 1991

Your earlier post said, in part: "The gas pedal was hard to press.", which made me think of the K-D cable. If it's stuck, it will affect the pedal/throttle.

Check the 700/900 FAQ (same engine & tran). See --select link-- at top-right above.

Open up the air filter box and make sure no varmits have decided to pack it full of food.

It kind of sounds like it's slipped into limp-home mode (disconnected Air Mass Meter). Maybe try unplugging and replugging the connector a couple times.

Check the timing belt marks on the cam, intermediate and crank shaft. It sounds like the timing belt either slipped a tooth or two or it sheared off a tooth or two. Dan

Automatic transmission Fluid label is between min and max while engine is running idle, what other service for transmission I should perform? The car has only 94,000 miles.
