1991 VOLVO 240 does not start 200 1991

Now the car does not makes even click noise when I try to start.
I looked under the hood and found that one end of kick down cable or
throttle cable came off from the pully attached to throttle body.
I mean its not attaced to anything. Is there any procedure I can put
it back correctly. If you suggest by picture would be big help.
Thank You.

1991 VOLVO 240 does not start 200 1991

I have a similar problem with my 1991 240. A week ago, it would not start but could be jump started. I replaced the battery and problem solved right? Nope. 5 days after replacing the battery, and the car starting with no problem, it sat for 3 days and when I tried to start it, nothing. No clicks, no chime, no lights...nothing. Jump started it first try, let it run for about 15 min turned it off and it started right up again.

I am thinking an alternator problem? The belt seems tight but I have had an occasional belt squeal, comes and goes, for the past three weeks or so. I am wondering if it could be related.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Check the voltage across the battery when the car is running.
If it's over 14 Volts, then the alternator is charging.
Another way is to disconnect one of the battery terminals
while the car is running. If it continues running then the
alternator is OK...some have said not to do this as it might
blow some diodes. I never had this happen to me.

The kick-down procedure is outlined in the 700/900 FAQ (it'll be the same for your 240).

As for the no start, I would start by checking/cleaning the 25 amp fuse that is found on a wire running up the drivers side front fender.
