So I am worried about what it might be.
I have checked the fluid level often, and there seems to be no leakage.


Do you have any experience with the p/s on this car?

Is the p/s system like that on the 700-940 cars?

All my experience has been in the 240 cars.

Had a similar problem with my '93. The P.S. fluid was low. I toped it off and let is sit for a day (36 hrs) and poof, it was gone.

It depends on when it occurs. My 960 was shuddering at various times, esp. when turning in to my driveway at slower speeds. Volvo installed a loop kit and changed the fluid and the problem was solved. Make sure they use the thinner ps fluid or the steering will feel heavy. Good luck.
