Well, I've got a check engine light, and the code is for an ECU failure. Anybody know of a source for a good used one? It's just sort of hard to swallow having to pay $700 for a new one here. Any help would be appreciated.

What are the codes you are getting? Have you tried resetting the ECU by removing #6 fuse for 5 minutes? Do the codes return?
What are the problems you are noticing?

If it's a '93 - it is probably a safe bet to guess - that a -951, -935 or -933 ecu would fit the bill. Check www.car-parts.com and do a search. Those ECUs were also on later 940s and 740s. Check the ECU table at:

Just at first glance: No 002 AMM in an 84 240T, I do not think a 563 turbo ECU can be replaced by a 951, the 511 ECU in LH 2.2 cars in '85 is omitted, the 510 ECU is completely equivalent to the 503 (and the 510 was used in 6 cyl. 760 as well). Needs a little work.
