I am rebuilbing my differential in a 84 turbo 240 wagon.
Gears are 3.73's sSandard dana 30 prbuild parts match except the ring and pinion. Has any one installed atandrad dana gears with sucess ???

I hate to think of the price for ring and pinion from Volvo !

If you're going to use non-Volvo parts, go all-out and install a Torsen or LSD setup meant for a Jeep (I think some Cherokees used a Dana 30 as well).

The new parts I have are early model jeep dana 30 stuff. Patrick @ ext:5562 @ "Randys ring and pinion" @ www.ringpinion.com was 90% sure it was a match.I just did not want to waist time in the set up if there was a long term issue. This car is strong and driven hard. The volvo ring and pinion have larger contact areas (about 25% larger) than stock dana. If it sets up ok than NO PROBLEMS...
