a friend is a saab nut,his age is getting to him. he asked me to strip out his saabs and sell off the parts. i know that the knock sensor are the same, is there any others?
The injection systems are Bosch LH-Jet in Saab 900s 85?-93. So, AMM, possibly the computers, maybe other sensors. If the car's a turbo, the APC turbo controllers seem to be used to control Volvo turbo systems since they can cut back on boost when knock is detected. BTW - Saab high-pressure turbos don't have a knock sensor on their ignition - knock is controlled by the APC cutting back on boost only, so knock sensors aren't always the same. Late Saab 900 non-turbos used Bosch EZK ingition - I think that's the same system as late Volvos with the flywheel sensor.
BTW - have you/he considered keeping one or two of the Saabs and driving it. Despite the fact that they're FWD, they're actually good, comfortable, fun cars. The 900, at least, exhibits few if any annoying front-wheel-drive behaviors - the turning circle is ok (not as good as a 240, but close) and there's very little torque steer.
The turbo 900s have about 160hp - or 190hp if you got the special performance (SPG) package, so they're actually very zippy. The only problems are transmission failure in some models due to too-small bearings, and front tire wear due to the cars being front-heavy with much torque...
