APA Industries Motor Mounts? 200 1990

I need a new left motor mount for my '90 240 wagon. Are the APA Industries motor mounts sold by FCP worth installing? They are certainly cheaper than an original Volvo item, but I do not want to be penny wise and pound foolish.

Thanks one and all,
Rich

No. They're not very good quality. I used these mounts on my '80 242 and after maybe 5,000 miles the right side looks a little deformed. They didn't really do much toward eliminating unwanted engine movement at idle or reducing the lurching sensation I feel sometimes when stepping on or letting off the throttle. Recently, while digging around in my used parts, I came across some used Volvo engine mounts that I believe came off of my departed '79 242. I forgot I had them. I don't know how many miles they had been in service but it was proabably more than 20k and they still look good. The rubber is hard and they show no deformation. I'm going to install them on the '80.
Groton can supply the Volvo mounts. I think they want $45 apiece which is worth it IMO.

Not so critical with motor mounts as they are relatively easy to replace. I have no complaints with the aftermarket mounts I have used. Dan

I had the same question when I did my 93 left side recently and decided to go with the Volvo mount. I've had bad luck with aftermarket rubber quality. Nothing against APA in particular because I've never used them. They might be fine. Maybe someone who installed them a few years ago will respond.
