Another e-code question 200 1991

Do Cibie e-code headlights use the black mounting brackets found on the U.S.-style plastic lights? Or are the e-codes deep enough to mount without them? It seems they wouldn't use the brackets because they already have the turn signal brackets built into the housings. See the ebay auction below for pics:

Sounds like a good deal, but what about the wire harness? Is this something that is easy to come up with? Thanks for any information and happy bricking.

No, they do not use the bracket. The E-code has studs that mount to the car where the US bracket would mount.

hi there
i bought a used set of e-codes from this seller for my 85 turbo. it was a decent deal. cant complain.
there is a seller on ebay that sells aftermarket corners real cheap.
plus you still need to source the crome strip. or like others have done use the usa crome. expect reserve to be near buy it now price.
good luck. just my experience

Ask seller what market these came out of......right hand drive, or left hand drive countries....makes a difference as to where the beams illuminate.

They are for a LHD vehicle - asked the seller immediately when they came up. In addition to the indicators, it would be nice to have the chrome trim, as I think that is also Euro-specific.

And I agree with daveshan, they are a great deal, if you have the $$ to spend right now.

Yep, if I didn't already have a spare set I'd have used the buy it now option.

The trim is different in shape, there are 2 types, early, up to '85 goes down the side where the black thing is on our lights.

Late '86-93 is top only but it has a slightly different shape, ours curves smoothly fornt to back, the E trim has a distinct lip at the back.

It's easy to adapt US trim to these, I glued US trim on mine over 4 years ago and it's still holding up well and looks like it belongs there.

They don't use the brackets, you can see the studs on the back of the housings in the pic of the back of the lamps. That would be a super price if they had the turnsignal housings with them, so so as offered.

Edit, just looked again, that's $125 per set of corner lights, if the turnsignal/corner lights are genuine Volvo that's a heck of a deal.
