Rear Shocks 900 1994

how do i remove the rear struts on my 1994 940 non turbo, no self leveling. someone told me that i have to remove the rear seats if i want to access the strut mount. is this true? is this a job i can do myself in my driveway? i appreciate any help. thanks.

Miracleman49, I had just finished this post and saw you had replied. I hate to throw out words so I am posting this.

After removing the tire you can see the lower mounting which consists of a nut and bolt. Following the shock up, on the wheel well about where you would think the other end would be is a rubber cap hidden under a layer of undercoating and dirt. Remove the rubber cap and you have access to the upper mounting bolt. The nut for the bolt is captivated. More, all, instruction are the FAQ.

Rear Shocks 900 1994

I have 95 940s and have changed the rear shocks on both. No need to remove seats. In the wheel well behind the rear tire, you will find a round black rubber plug; behind it is the top nut for the shock. It is an easy job. Read the FAQs for potential problems and hints to ease installation.
