Dual Circuit Brakes?? 120-130

Have anyone done anything neat with their brake setup?? Beside the normal 1800 conversion.

I'm looking at converting the single circuit to a dual circuit setup, and just wondering if anyone has done something different? I'm thinking more on upgrading the front calipers, and master cylinder to a true dual circuit setup, and adding an additional line/portioning valve to the rear drums.

Have anyone made a mounting plate for the front axle to mount dual circuit calipers (i.e. 140 or 240 calipers)?

Paul

BTW- I did have all the brake fluid leak out of my master cylinder by the way of a leaking rear wheel cylinder. Forgot to check the fluid level before jumping into the car and driving down the street. Not fun! I narrowly missed hitting another car.

Front spindles from a fuel injected 1800 should work since they mount the later 4 piston calipers and attach to the same ball joints.

I lost brakes on a 122 once and ran into my mother in laws house. Definitely not pleasant!

Lee-

So, if I get the steering knuckle/backing plate/caliper mounting bracket. The 122 wheel bearings/rotors will fit on the 1800 spindles?

I thought you had to use the whole setup(knuckle/backing plate/caliper mounting bracket/wheel bearing/rotor) from a 1800 to do this conversion. I guess I thought the spindles were different sizes? I didn't want the bolt pattern from the front different than the rear(plus, I have widened original wheels with the old pattern)

OK, if I change the front steering knuckle/backing plate/caliper mounting bracket, and use the existing wheel bearings/rotors. I can use either the '69-'73 1800 or 144 4-piston calipers, and brake master cylinder. Can I use the brake lines/junction block/rear proportioning valves from an 144 (maybe do a slight modification to them)? Or would I need to do some custom fabrication with new lines?

Have you done this conversion? Does anyone have a write-up on this type of conversion?

Thanks-

Paul
