Duplicate key 900 1997

Is there a vendor, other than the dealer, that will duplicate my laser cut 960 key and what is a fair price to pay?

You can get a key from any locksmith or even a chain hardware store, however, I only use Volvo dealer cut keys after wasting lot$ of dollar$ and visit$. Also the dealer can cut you a master or a valet, something others cannot. Valet only opens doors and ignition, not trunk or glove box. I think my keys cost about 12 bucks each, and have worked everytime, all the time. I cannot say that about the three buck up ones.

960s don't have laser cut keys. Yes they require a special machine that most key makers don't have. But about the larger dealer have the machine. One dealer quoted me $125 and 2 weeks for a new key. Another dealer (Santa Ana, CA) quoted $26 and they did it on the spot. I saw the machine with my own eyes. No lasers involved. The dealers that don't have the machine simply contract the work to a dealer that has it. Call around every dealer within driving distance. You are bound to find a cheap one.
Good luck
Justin

One of the local lock shops has a machine to laser cut keys. They quoted me $35. I get a discount at the dealer, and the key cost only $22 there.
