I picked up a 946 ECU out of a 1995 940. Its Bosch LH2.4 with EGR. Does anyone know if this is compatable with the older 556 933 ones. The tag under the hood had OBD certified on it.

Programa had the 556 as being a replacement for the 946 and 933 so it looks like there all interchangeable. Plugged it in today instead of the 933 and it worked fine. No check engine light I guess the EGR is working.

i never tried, but my daughters 94 940 has the 946 also.

Give it a try if the connectors are the same. I have successfully tried different ECU's in my 240's but not a 946. Let us know what you find. Dan
