Unsolved erractic air con 900 1993

1993 940 turbo. Facing erratic air con compressor not cycle hence no cool ari although the blower fan is running. Change compressor about 3 months ago and the air con is giving mist... never encountered prior to the changing of compressor. Now at times air con compressor not cycling. Based on advice: change pressotat; refill gas and resolder the control unit relay. Problems still exist. What else should I fix?? Air con compressor not cycling/no cool air happens once in a while like once in 3 to 4 days. If you stop the car for between 10 to 45 mins, the compressor will start cycling again. Reaaly lost.

You said: "no cool air although the blower fan is running". Are you referring to the inside blower or the auxillary radiator fan? If the auxillary radiator fan doesn't blow, the air conditioner will overpressurize on the high side and will cut out due to high pressure (overheating). Then, after it sits for a while - "If you stop the car for between 10 to 45 mins, the compressor will start cycling again" - the system equalizes and the compressor will run again until it overpressurizes.

"the air con is giving mist..." If the mist is coming from under the hood near the compressor, it is a confirmation of too much high-side pressure (overheating).

So, FWIW, I would check the aux radiator fan and it's pressure switch.

    Good luck
