What bulbs are used in the e code turn signal units 200 1986

I will soon be installing e codes in my '86 sedan and noted the amber on the bottom 1/2 of the turn signal lens. Is that the running light that stays on with a clear bulb when the headlights are on and the top the actual turnsignal with an amber bulb? If so, will I have to reverse the wiring from what I'm using now (running light on top and turnsignal on bottom)?

Thanks.

    Hi Bob,

i'll check on the bulbs, but i put the regular 1157 bulb in my euros, and it turned out brighter than the original euro bulb. so,i put the original euro bulbs back in.

the running lights you refer to light up in the top part. but, it's a dual filament system, something like the brake bulb, and the pin connector has 3 prongs instead of 2 (in the center). i got lucky with 2 turning signals with dual filament but i didn't want to test how to set it up, so i put the standard euro turn signals on.

the lights are clear in both top and bottom.

    regards,

    Yep.

Clear on top = running light
Amber on bottom = turn signal

If you're backwards, it's easy to switch around the wires in connector on the signal.
