code 232 in #2 socket 700

Hi again gents,

I have a cod problem; (90 740 turbo) the car will run good for a while and out of the blue will get a check engine light. When I pull the fault code I seem to only get the 2-3-2 code and then when I try to clear it the memory will not clear unless I disconnect the battery for a few seconds and reconnect it. In the past with other codes I was able to clear them on the diagnostic module. This code has been repeating about 5 times at about 150 mile intervals???? Anybody have any suggestions on what to do. I was going to change the O2 sensor but hate to spend the $$$ if I’m wrong

thanks MO

Mine is still doing this after changing the head gasket, I have check again and again for vacuumm leaks. However, I still believe this is my problem.

Now keep in mind, I did replace my o2 sensor, but it was not the correct one. Also, I replaced everything that goes along with it:

Plugs, wires, rotor, dis. cap, cleaned TB, fuel filter, oil & filter, all belt (timing, accessories), flame trap, and water pump, gaskets, and hoses. I really believe I possibly did miss some vac hose, but can't find it.

I think the vac lines may be your problem also, especially if you replaced some near or around any vac hoses.
