Seems to be selling worldpac parts in Canada,that may be good news for Canucks who has been paying exhorbitant "custom declaration fees of $ 25 and up" to UPS.

Always insist that your order be shipped via US Postal Service. Customs fee is $5.

If someone won't ship this way, I don't deal with them.

Customs fees are going to be based on the value, or estimated value if not stated, of whatever is coming into the country. It sounds like you've been lucky. Heavier parts, like more than 4-5 kg, are usually prohibitive to ship by USPS vs. UPS/Fedex.

I don't know about Worldpac one way or the other but for people living west of Toronto (Hamilton, Burlington, Mississauga, etc) I found Wide Open Throttle (http://www.wotnow.ca/Products.htm) to be good. WOT is a small one-man business and he might be working out of his house (don't know) but he is prompt, friendly, will track down stuff for you and delivered to my door for free (he lives close by). Bought a Pressure Bleeder from him. I also found Peninsula Imports (http://www.peninsulaimports.com/) to be as cheap as any for brakes and calipers. The service guy was quite on the ball and said he could get most things for Volvos. They tend to specialize in British cars but he had real lights for 740 and 240 cars sitting on the shelf when I went in last. The Volvo dealer nearby recommended I go to Peninsula to get calipers so that is a thumbs up. I find the main parts guy at Volvo in Oakville to be straight up, knowledgeable and friendly. He even ordered expensive parts for me (like a front ABS sensor for a 740) and didn't want money up front. What can I say; there are decent people out there! The best way to get rid of weeds is to grow good grass. We should profile the nice guys here more. All too often people, me included, are quick to complain and criticize and slow to compliment.

Y'know... I found a repair shop like that in downtown Toronto. Left the car for safety and DriveClean inspection on a Saturday. Told him I wasn't sure I'd get back before they closed so that I could pay him. He said I should come back Monday for that even though he promised to leave the car outside for me with the keys under the hood.

That would neeeever happen in NY.

I phoned and there was a real person answering my questions.They are located in Hamilton,On and BC,he said,a new co.

Yup, Worldpac has been here for a while-- I had a friend whose brother had a line on jobber prices via the web for a while (there is a Worldpac distribution warehouse somewhere in Mississauga), until they drove past his "business address" and discovered it was a rural residence...

The prices are good on some things on autopartsonlinecanada.com, but I think you will still do better at FCPgroton.com, particularly if you wait until you have a large order and have them send it USPS-- stay away from the couriers unless you like throwing away money!

I have ordered a few times from autopartsonlinecanada. The first time was suspect, no e-mail replies and no stuff, but my order came a few days later, and my subsequent orders have been fast, easy, and free shipping over $75 canadian! They even backordered an item and shipped it free when it came in a few days later. They claimed to be just setting up when I first ordered, and service had been ok since.
You have to check their prices, some are fantastic (airbox thermostat $14.12!)
and some are too high. I will continue to order from them when they are even in the ballpark for pricing because they seem to be reliable, and have no additional duties or taxes.
